Clean City • Safe City • Proud City
The Lovat Sanitation Department is responsible for the collection and disposal of waste across all nine levels of the city. Unlike many cities in the Territories, Lovat does not operate a fleet of garbage trucks. Instead, the Department maintains a dense network of collection bins distributed throughout the city's warrens, passages, plazas, and transit corridors. Bins are serviced continuously throughout the day by sanitation crews who transfer waste to staging points on the lower levels.
From there, refuse is loaded onto barges and transported west along the city's waterways to a large-scale processing and disposal site located beyond the city limits. The operation runs around the clock, every day of the year.
Residential Collection
Trash collection is free of charge for all individual residents and family households in Lovat. Residents are asked to deposit waste in the nearest designated collection bin. Do not leave waste in passages, on lift platforms, or in communal areas outside of marked bins. Bins are color-coded by collection type and are clearly marked throughout all warrens.
Commercial Collection
Businesses operating within Lovat must hold a valid Commercial Waste Collection Permit to access scheduled bulk collection services. Commercial permit holders are assigned dedicated bins and collection windows appropriate to the scale and type of their operations.
To apply for a Commercial Waste Collection Permit, complete Form SW-1 and submit it to the Department of Permits. Applications may also be forwarded through any Directory Agent.
Collection & Processing
Lovat's waste is collected continuously by sanitation crews operating across all active levels. Collected refuse is consolidated at level staging points before being transferred via freight lift to barge-loading facilities on the lower waterways. Barges operate on a regular schedule, transporting waste west of the city to the Lovat Regional Processing Site, where it is sorted, treated, and disposed of in accordance with Territorial environmental standards.
The use of the city's waterway network for waste transport means sanitation operations are largely invisible to residents — a deliberate design of the system dating back to the city's early infrastructure planning.
