Dumpsters in an alley

Unidentified Remains Discovered in Martello

Authorities are investigating the discovery of unidentified remains found early this morning in an alleyway near Hawthorne Row in Martello, Level Five. Officers responded to the scene at approximately 4:15 AM after a sanitation worker reported what they initially believed to be a pile of discarded clothing behind a row of dumpsters. Upon closer inspection, they realized the heap contained human remains—though not in any recognizable form.

According to initial reports, the remains were devoid of skin, with no identifiable facial structure or limbs. The body appeared to have been surgically or otherwise methodically altered, leaving investigators unable to immediately determine a cause of death—or even if the remains belonged to a single individual. No blood was found at the scene, and forensic teams noted that the body was dry, as if it had been exposed to dry air for an extended period of time.

Local shopkeepers reported hearing strange noises during the night, including low humming and a rhythmic tapping sound, but no witnesses have come forward with details about who or what may have left the remains.

“This isn’t normal,” said Detective Carl Bouchard, who leads the investigation. “We don’t know what we’re dealing with yet, but I’ll tell you this—this body wasn’t just left. It was placed. There was intent.”

The Lovat Police Department urges anyone with information to come forward. Authorities have not ruled out the possibility of foul play, but given the unusual nature of the remains, they are considering all possibilities. The body has been transported to the coroner’s office for further examination, though sources inside the department indicate that initial attempts at identification have proven difficult.

Residents of Martello are encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
